NLL Lacrosse: Swarm's Evan Kirk, Award Winner Extraordinaire

The Minnesota Swarm have a pretty good problem on their hands. They have two rookie goalies playing far above any expectations they may have had placed on them. Both Tyler Carlson and Evan Kirk have both been given weekly awards by the NLL, and this week, Kirk took home two more awards.

On Tuesday, Kirk was awarded the Rookie of the week award for the second time this season. Today, the NLL gave him the next honor up, naming Kirk the Rookie of the month for February. According to MNSwarm.com, Kirk " finished February with a 2-0 record after recording wins in his first two starts in the NLL and posted a team best 6.50 GAA and .873 SV%."

Kirk was quick to deflected the honor back to the team, a recurring theme with the Swarm this season. Kirk said, "I give credit to everyone on defense for all of the help this season. They have been making big plays, getting tons of loose balls and that has helped me feel a lot more comfortable to make those saves."

The Swarm play again Saturday, March 3rd, in Calgary.
